Porcupine Quill Earrings

Johnny McCraigie (she/her) is a member of the Colville Confederated Tribes, lives in Denver, and is the owner of sn̓k̓lip artistic creations. Johnny's late mother ignited her artmaking passion since she was young, so she began sn̓k̓lip artistic creations to better connect with herself, her community, and her culture. Johnny works with beads, shells, deer hide, antlers, rabbit fur, rawhide, pine needles, yarn, and fabric. She learned how to work with porcupine quills from Master Quill Artist, Ceceila Bull Bear, an Oglala Lakota elder in Denver. In her spare time, Johnny is learning her Native language, n̓səl̓xcin̓, which her pieces are named in.
